Busy weekend!! It started the first part of last week when I decided that I had to have new tires on my vehicle before the end of the week when I had a couple of long trips to make. By Wednesday evening I had a new set of tires with a Tahoe on top of them. I absolutely love my new ride. The whole fam' loves it. With the third row seat elevated just a little, Sophie says that she is going upstairs when she goes to the back. And this is what I see in my mirror as she is intensely watching her drop down DVD screen in the back.
Thursday evening, I couldn't wait to get in my new ride and drive to Conway. Sadie was participating in a chorus concert there on Friday, so I treated the girls and one of Sadie's friends, Tori, to a night in a hotel. Sophie had never stayed in a hotel and was way impressed with all of the amenities. [We can jump on the bed in hotels, but we can't jump on our own beds at home.]
They all cut loose a little and had a big time. No one else was in the pool room, so we had it all to ourselves.
Friday morning, Sophie and I dropped the big girls off at the college for practice sessions all day. Going back at lunch to take them out to eat and then back again at 4:00 for the concert.
Sophie and I found a park and played that afternoon until time for the concert. It was a beautiful day and the playground at the park was pretty busy. Sophie, with her baby doll in tow, headed full speed to the playground.
I think this is one of the moments where I am known as the 'Best Mom Ever!'
I relish in those moments, because they don't seem like they could ever come often enough.
Sophie is really good at making friends. She found a little girl to play with fairly quickly and they played all over the playground. Sophie kept asking me if she could go get a drink of water with her best friend. I said yes of course. Playing makes a girl thirsty.
The concert was very neat. There were 4 or 5 students from different schools scattered across the state. Each child had learned the same music at their home schools and then rehearsed together and got critiqued by college music professors. Their voices were so sweet. Their harmony was very advanced and blended. I enjoyed listening to the songs.
Sadie also met new people from different schools. It made me smile to watch her social skills. It's funny to me to watch younger ones interact with new people. I don't know that Sadie made any 'best friends' in that short of time period like Sophie did. But she did enjoy meeting new people.
All of the girls had a good time and were exhausted on the way home. They rode in luxury though and watched a movie on the way home until they fell asleep.
Saturday was a hard day. We helped Mom and Wayne move. I miss them both badly already. But I'll save that for another post someday.
Sunday morning, Sadie and I got up and got dressed for the youth hunt. Sadie knocked her down another doe. Sadie is a funny girl. She doesn't get excited about hunting. She doesn't wait for it, or plan on it, or even plan on going until the last minute. But this is her second doe. Two different days of hunting in her life=two does. Good job Sadie!! She was so proud.

Thought I'd see pictures of the new Tahoe! I love mine! But my third row is more of a basement than upstairs!!! You musta got the newer model! YAY Sadie on the take down! My Larry is getting Dylan all ready ...it scares me to death! I sure love you & still call you my best friend!
Congrats on the new ride! I know you and the girls are lovin' it!
Congrats to Sadie and her doe. All Walter got last weekend on the youth hunt was a ton of mosquito bites.
Woo hoo! What a fun filled weekend...and most of all a bigger ride for all of your little ballerinas. Way to go Sadie on your deer!
