Yes, I said emergency room visit, but I must back up and start from the beginning. You see, Sophie had dance and it was Mrs. Jessica's day to drive. When she brought Sophie to me, she told me that Sophie must have an ear infection because she started complaining of her ear hurting on the way home from dance. Mrs. Jessica said that Sophie never complains or whines, so she believed that her ear was truly hurting.
Of course, it was after 5 o'clock and the doctor's office was closed. So I went to Walmart to get some Tylenol to ease her pain through the evening and night. On the way home, we were invited to meet Bryan, Kayla, Raegan, and Walker for dinner at CP Store. I asked Sophie if she felt like going out to eat or just wanted to go home. She said that her ear was feeling a little better and she wanted to go. So...we did.

I'm not the kind that runs to the emergency room just for anything, but when I could feel the pain for her as she was crying and telling me that she "can't take it anymore," I felt I had to do something, besides let her suffer all night. I had already given her all the Tylenol I could. My only choice was to get some antibiotics started so it could start fighting the infection.
I won't lie. I felt like kinda silly taking her at 1030 to the ER for an ear infection, at least that's what I was thinking on the drive there.

The doctor said that it will heal on its own and it will not affect her hearing. She got some ear drops to numb the pain and some antibiotics. He also gave her some Tylenol with Codeine to help with the pain until the antibiotics start working.
This morning, she was feeling so much better already.

Poor baby! I'm glad you took her when you did. Hope those antibiotics work quickly.
Oh NO!! Bless her little heart! I remember my ears getting so bad my mama would take me late at night too. And still fighting ear infections at 40. Hope she grows out of them. Glad she is feeling better!
YUK! I am HOPING to eliminate this problem tomorrow! We're taking Presley to get tubes put in! Just her left ear seems to not drain properly so she's had like 5 infections since December! She doesn't complain at all, just claws at her ear which is a good indicator for me to get her to the doctor. I hope Sadie feels better soon!
