We just got back from Sea World on a family vacation. If you have never been, it is worth the 8 hour drive even with three kids. There are a number of things that I learned while on vacation.
1. I have learned you can never take enough pictures. It seems like you are snapping every few minutes, but when you get home you simply just don't have enough. I think it is because it is so hard to capture what it going on at the time and enjoy it too. Sadie and I took turns. She took her camera the first day to Sea World, and I took mine the second. Then we pooled our pictures together. I still didn't get enough.
2. I have learned that working at Sea World would be the coolest job ever! I was so interested in these sea animals. I have never been an dog/cat/pet person, but I think I would love to work with these animals every day. They simply amaze me. When we watched the Shamu show, it made me cry...literally. Sadie thought I had lost my mind, but the beauty of these animals and their intelligence and just being there watching them just made me emotional.
3. I learned that I am a tourist at heart. I love to travel, I just hate the getting there part. I realize there are so many things to do and see that I haven't done and seen before. This vacation was for the girls in reality, but I enjoyed it as much as they did. If I had the money and the time, I would pick a different place to go once a month and just go check it out.
4. I learned that my girls are very well behaved. I really have known this for a while, but it really impressed me how well the trip went. I was dreading the drive with 3 kids, especially the littlest toot, but they all did really really well. I hate to say I have the best kids in the world, but I'm gonna say it...."I have the best kids in the world!!!"
5. I learned that in Texas, it is hard to find a Coke. What is it with these Texas people and their Pepsi?? It's not the same thing people!!!
6. I learned that it doesn't matter what hotel/motel you stay at when you are away from home. The nice hotels have little luxuries and more room, but the small rooms work just as well. The only criteria I search for is for a swimming pool for the kids, and I always check the reviews because I want it to be clean and safe. My girls love to stay in hotels.
7. I learned that no matter what shape the economy or the country is in, people are still going to take vacations. I think it is important to spend the money and take vacations. You need to get away from every day life and create memories with each other. I am proud of the memories we made on our trip.
8. I learned that people love babies. It doesn't matter where you go, if you have a baby with you people are going to stop and talk to you and your baby. Molly got alot of attention from us, but even got alot of attention from strangers.9. I learned that Sadie is a daredevil and Sophie is not. We rode a ride called Plummit Summit. You travel up in a 16 seat boat type contraption and it spins you in a 360 degree circle when you get to the top. You then speed backwards downhill then up again and it spins you in a 360 degree circle again. Facing forward, you drop reallly realllly fast (and it's steep) and you crash into water and it drenches you. Sadie absolutely loved this. Sophie absolutely hates this. I peed my pants just a little. That was the end of my rides for the day.
10. I learned that my little Molly loves the water. The second day we spent alot of the day in the water park. We slathered Molly up with sunscreen and took her for dips off and on. She loves loves loves the water just like the big girls.

Oh, Oh, Oh my goodness!! I can't tell you how precious your girls are. There are no words. I am so glad you all went and had such a good time. I have never seen sea animals, I bet it was awesome! I love everything that you learned. How neat. I almost felt like I was there. :)
How exciting!!! I am such a homebody that we do not get out enough. Sometimes I feel Dylan goes so much with his dad that he's OK if we don't go but I do realize that I need to break down and take the kids out more often.
I love seeing Molly in Presley's outfits! I can't believe that she's wearing them so early; Presley wore that little blue outfit at 11 months!! Seeing her in those takes me back to when my sweet baby wore them and that makes me smile - a lot!
Hope to see you this weekend!
