This is Sadie's
second year to dance, and let me tell you what a natural she is. She just picked it up so fast that it looks like she's been doing this for years!
As far as Sadie's dances go, I loved her jazz routine the best, but I love the pictures that the ballet routine produces. She just looks so elegant in them.
Sadie has become close to these girls too. She is the oldest in her class, but has made some lifelong friendships with this group, and most of these girls are from Nashville, which makes it even sweeter. Being in this dance class has put her in a position to get to know these girls that she would have never had contact with at home.
Sadie still has not made up her mind whether she wants to continue dance or switch to gymnastics. She has changed her mind about six times in the last three days. I'm not trying to sway her either way. I think she will be happy in either, but she knows she has to take gymnastics to even have a chance in making cheerleader, but she loves dance too. So, the jury is still out.
Of course, Sophie will do whatever Sadie wants to do, and frankly I think Sophie is ready for something new. She always gets tired of going to dance by the end of the year. She still loves it, but welcomes the break.
Did I tell you that Molly and Dad did not go to the recital this year? Molly was chugged up and didn't feel well, plus.....she is at the age where she has to be down and running around everywhere. I knew I would be busy and back and forth between dances and I knew that it would be hard for Larry to contain her. Larry didn't want to miss it, because he knows how much it means to the girls, but I finally convinced him to stay home with Molly. I'm so glad he did. They would have both been miserable. The girls understood that too.
This is Sadie's jazz dance. She loves loves loves jazz. And let me tell you, that girl has the moves like Jagger! She absolutely rocked it! Not only that, but all the girls had her fixing their hair for them so they could have a 'bump' like hers.
Her tap routine was much more advanced this year. I love the whole recital because you can see what Mrs. Lana and Mrs. Ashley are teaching even the littlest girls to do. You can tell that their little moves are going to be practiced and polished and will turn out to be what the older girls are perfecting. It is amazing to me.
What a grand experience this is for both of my girls. I am so thankful that they have both been given the opportunity to take dance, regardless if this is the last year for either of them, or if they dance for many years to come.
I will dread the week of rehearsal because it is so terribly long and there are many trips to the Perot Theatre for practices, but it is all very worth it that Sunday afternoon when they show the world what they have been practicing and working hard on all year. This year it fell on Mother's Day. What a wonderful gift my girls gave me.!

She is beautiful but you know that! I cannot wait for Presley to decide what she wants to do. I am afraid it's going to be welding! Oh well, nothing wrong with a girl in wranglers & boots right? WRONG! Anyway, I love her bump & that others want it too! I want a bump and work hard on it daily!
WOW Sadie really shines when she is dancing. Well, all the time actually. You are right about how elegant the ballet pics are. I love her Jazzy Jazz outfit and hair!! I know you are a proud, proud Momma!! What a great Mother's Day for you indeed!! Muah!
