Weekend before last, my Mother and I went to Vegas.  It was her first trip there and I was appointed her tour guide.  We arrived in Vegas around 8:00pm on Friday night with excitement.  The lights of the town are amazing to me.  Everything is so beautiful and eccentric!!

We stayed at the Mirage.  I was pleased with it.  It was beautiful inside and out.  I didn't take my camera, for fear of losing it or breaking it, so these are only pictures from my cell phone.  Mom did take her camera and I copied pictures from it, but something happened to the disc because they are not on there.

Her pictures were better than mine, as you would expect, but I don't have them available, so I am going with what I have, even though you are going to miss the ones of Mom and Elvis(s).  Yes, there were two at the same place at the same time, which really didn't make sense to me, but the picture is GREAT!!

These are from the water show at the Bellagio.  I absolutely love this show.  I could stand there all night and watch show after show after show.  It is beautiful and inspiring and literally brings tears to my eyes.

Right before the second show started, this woman walked up to us and asked us if she could give us a free psychic reading.  We declined politely and the woman continued small talk.  It irritated me because I was anticipating the next show.  So, I kinda snapped at her when she asked where we were from.  I said, "If you're a psychic, you should already know that."   Rude, I know.  But Mom continued talking to her and smoothed it over until she shoo-ed away.

We had walked and walked and walked that day.  We walked up one side of the strip and down the other.  There is just so much to see!!  Obviously we didn't see it all, but that leaves room and reason for another trip.

At our hotel, they had a white tiger and dolphin habitat.  It was from years ago when Siegfried and Roy had their show there.  We had to check that out.

Turns out it was very neat.  There were several pools for the dolphins to play in.  There were no shows, but they did a few neat little tricks at feeding time.  I was way impressed that they had an underground observatory where you could see the dolphins swimming around in there.

I really enjoyed the secret garden too.  We saw a white lion that was just beautiful.  He looked like he was so gentle.  I just wanted to climb in there with him and rub his mane.  But I didn't.  I was scared.

The white tigers were a little more scary because I remember about the one attacking Roy during a show in Vegas.  I didn't have any desire to climb in their cage.  I didn't remember the whole story, but when I got home I looked it up and it was even more interesting to me.  I couldn't verify if one of these white tigers was actually the one in the show, but they were beautiful.

Mom and I were the typical tourists while we were there.  We took advantage of many photo opts.  Even the cheezy ones.

These are "sucker pictures."  They pose you and take your picture even before you enter the secret garden.  When you get ready to leave, they show you these cute pictures that they have put together that you just can't resist.

I'm a sucker.  I couldn't resist.

The last night we were there, we went down to Freamont Street.  I think that may have been Mom's favorite part.  They light show was pretty cool again.  It was a 70s theme light show set to the tune of, 'Bye Bye American Pie.'  I loved how you could hear everyone singing over the music.  Every generation from all walks of life was there and everyone was singing.

It was definitely a good trip.  A great opportunity to spend time with my mother.  (We have never done anything like that before.)  Lots of memories were made.  We came home with money in our pocket and our plane didn't crash, even though I thought we were going down at one point.

Thanks for a wonderful time, Mom.  Love you and can't wait for another adventure!!!
