Happenings::
We had a brief six hour power outage on Sunday. A storm came through and knocked down a power line just down from our house. We made the best of it with games and finished it off with scary stories in the dark. I think the girls were loving the excitement in the dark...with the exception of Molly. She really just wanted to watch Little Einsteins.
Monday morning I went hunting. I hunted hard all day, but came up short. There will be another day. Sophie is really getting into the hunting. She loves to go with Larry. Sadie has no interest any more. It will be interesting to see if Molly gets into it.
Sweet Sophie is so funny these days. She is learning so much and it is just spilling out of her. I love to hear her tell and explain and teach the things that she learns. She has grown out of the little girl stage. She is way into the big-little-girl stage. She tries really hard to stay up with Sadie because she thinks Sadie is really cool. Yes, they argue and pick and aggravate each other, but I can see the close bond that they share and I love it.
I hope Sophie and Molly will have the same relationship. Molly is quite stand-off-ish with everyone right now. It is aggravating to Sophie because she wants to love on her constantly. Molly is just an independent little toot. It's everything on her terms and in her time. In the words of Sweet Brown, "Ain't nobody got time for that."
Molly is talking quite a bit now. I couldn't wait for "Momma" to come out of her mouth for months. It is now the most plain pronounced word that she says and it is music to my ears. She will mimic everything that you do. She is a daredevil. She is funny. She is a joy. But she is so darn hardheaded!!
Sadie is so involved. I love that about her. It keeps us hopping, but I think it is also building her character at the same time. I am so proud of her and I hope that we can maintain the wonderful relationship that we have right now through her teenage years.
She was asked, as Student Council President, to do a speech for the Veteran's Day celebration at the courthouse. She did a wonderful job. I am trying to soak up every bit of her I can.
It is hard to believe that in three short years she will be gone off to college. I can't imagine that now. I miss her already!!
