I reflect back to just a little over a year ago when Sadie was in the 8th Grade and she came home and said, "Mom, I think I want to try out for cheerleader."  I knew she was determined in everything she does, but I also knew it was going to be a hard road.  She had never been interested in gymnastics or cheer before and now all of the sudden, she wants to compete for a spot on the squad with no experience.

So, she started taking gymnastics and tried out in the 8th grade to be a junior high cheerleader.  She didn't make it.  She was devastated!!  But she gained her composure, started working harder, and most importantly, didn't give up.

It has been a long--long--last few weeks for all of us, but the hard work, determination, tears, and sweat have paid off.

Sadie is now a cheerleader for the 2013-2014 year, and she will be cheering on those Scrappers from the sidelines instead of the stands.

I am so proud of her for not giving up.  I am so proud of her for the hard work that she did put into every bit of this, and I know she will continue to work hard.  There were 20 girls that tried out.  They had to try out in front of three judges and had to score at least an 80%.  We were on pins and needles until they announced the names on the radio.  Then tears of joy started flowing all over our house!!

Sadie has huge respect and big love for this girl, Kaylie.  She is a sophomore this year and has been the biggest inspiration to Sadie.  Kaylie kept pushing Sadie and believing in her.  She was always there for Sadie from technique and form, to simply the best pep talks anyone could give her. I know their friendship will grow and I am glad she has Kaylie in her life.

Quite frankly, I am amazed by the support that Sadie has in her life.  She and I both received so many calls, texts, and emails sending her prayers and congratulations.  It was even said by one person that she must have had the whole town praying for her because that's all that they heard about.  It wasn't even just our own small home town either.  There were people all over the state praying and awaiting the results.

What awesome friends and family I have!!  Look at all those blessings!!!

Yay Sadie!!! Go Scrappers!!!
