Sweet Sadie has been a busy little bee. I haven't even got to spend quality time with her the last few weeks. I had to stop her while she was heading out the door the other night to take a picture of her to send in for the directory for RYLA in a couple of months. RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Award. She is one of three sophomores that got selected to go the their three day leadership camp. She is super excited about going. It will be a wonderful opportunity for her.
We have had basketball tournaments the last two weeks. It has been a blast for me because I have enjoyed the games so much. Sophie loves to go to the game for social reasons, not much because of basketball. Molly likes to go for about twenty minutes, then she is ready to go home. It's usually about the time that she is done with her popcorn.
So, Sadie has been at the arena more than she has at home it seems like. She did take a break one night and went to Kaycee's surprise birthday party.
Then one night after the games, she stayed and helped decorate Mrs. Renfrow's room for her birthday. But neither one of those involved spending time with me.
She has been working in her spare time trying to get ready for cheer tryouts. Yes, two short weeks and it's cheer tryouts again. I know she has definitely improved and would be even more disappointed this time if she doesn't make it.
It's hard for me to realize that she is growing up and wants to do other things besides hang out with her Momma. I'm not trying to clip her wings. I'm just trying to make it last as long as I can.
Oh- And, she has been helping fill in at Brazz when they need her. She's only worked a couple of days there, but she loves it. I think she loves trying on all the clothes and dressing up the mannequins most of all. I told her she wouldn't make much money there because she would spend her check before she even got off of work.
I guess I need to schedule an appointment with her. Maybe we can do dinner and a movie sometime soon.
