I have spent several hours of my life on the stand this deer season. I admit that I am not a patient person. When I sit there I get bored. I start thinking about everything that I should be doing at home. My mind wanders. I think. I pray. I watch the squirrels. I take pictures.

I am not a professional hunter. I am not even a avid hunter. I don't like to get up at the crack of dawn. I don't like to sit up there in a tree and freeze.

But I do like to go a few times during the season and I hope for that big monster buck to step out.

This year I have not seen a buck at all.

I have seen does, coyotes, spiders, leaves, grass, cows, trees....but no bucks.

But it is peaceful to get away and do nothing.

This is almost a family event. Larry is the avid hunter. Molly goes to check the camera and everything that doesn't consist of being quiet. Larry and I have been a couple of times together.

Sadie decided she wanted to get in on the action after Sophie challenged her to a friendly competition. She has been a couple of times.

But Sophie gets the award this year. She has been more than the rest of the girls.

She has missed a couple of times. But her hard work has paid off. She finally got her one!! She was so excited!!!

The competition has really gotten intense now.  Sadie is looking to at least tie with Sophie this year.  However, she is holding out for some horns.
