Afterwards, we went to Fisherman's Cove because Santa was going to be making an appearance. Sophie was onboard and Molly was beyond excited! She said she was going to sit in Santa's lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas.
Santa came in and Molly was in awe! She did not take her eyes off of him. Sophie was trying to prepare Molly about Santa coming over to our table. We were all trying to do away with the shyness that we know kicks in when she first meets someone, especially someone as famous as Santa! Then he came over.
After several minutes of playful begging for her to sit in Santa's lap, Molly was having no part of it. So I asked Sophie to step in and show Molly that it wasn't scary.
Sophie was a little shy herself. I think it was more embarrassment because she thinks she is too big for this kind of stuff. But with Santa's help, we got her up there and got a few pictures.
Then came Molly's turn. I'm telling you - toys or no toys- it wasn't happening!! She insisted that we pull a chair up beside him and she would sit there. We obliged. She did talk to him a little bit.
She thought Santa's elf was pretty cool, but even she couldn't talk Molly into sitting in Santa's lap. Not even for a quick picture. This is as close as she got to the big man in the red suit.
We still have some time left before Christmas. We might can get her talked into it before then.
