Golf has been a little rare this summer. I don't really have an explanation except life is busy. I did make a trip to Idabel for the 3 Lady. We had a really good time. Didn't win any money, but that's okay too.
We had a new pet for a little while. A little friendly spider that would come and build a web every night at the same time in the same place. I started noticing him there and the web would be gone the next morning. It became very interesting to me and I did a little research on it. My findings were that it is a garden orb spider and they do actually eat their web in the mornings for replenishment. We started watching him every night. It was a family thing. Well-- Larry didn't get too involved, but the rest of us did.
Sadie was a little creeped out at first. She is like me and doesn't much care for spiders, but when I told her the story she was intrigued. It wasn't long until he had a name...Phillip.
Molly would check every hour or so to see if Phillip had come out yet. Sophie would tell him good night when she went to bed every night. And Sadie even went out there a couple of nights and caught bugs to throw into his web.
Very entertaining...!! This lasted several weeks. The last few nights, Phillip has not come out. I have decided that Phillip either got eaten by a bird or has taken a vacation to the Bahamas or something. Only time will tell.
The end of summer also marks a change in classes at church. The kids move up just like they do in school. This will be the first teacher change that Molly will have that she actually remembers, I think. She loves church and her friends move with her so she will be fine. Sophie is sad about leaving her teacher, but she always hates to leave people.
These girls still grab my phone and take pictures whenever they can. Selfies are a must!
I'm not certain, but I would bet that I was cooking supper when these were taken. I don't ever know. I just randomly find them on my phone.
Before school started Sadie went to cheer camp. She absolutely hates cheer camp.!! They came back home with some awards this year. Sadie, Brittany, Alexus, and Makenzie made All Star and were invited to perform at the Liberty Bowl New Year's Day. But even better than that, the team voted for the Leadership award and Sadie got it. I told her that meant more to me than any of the other awards.
Let's see what else..... OH. Molly is rotten. She is a spoiled rotten. I have known this for a while, but have really just now started seeing the effects. I have to get a handle on her!!
Sophie is loving school. She is eager to do her homework every day, It's the first thing she does when she gets home. Most of the time it's already done before I get home.
We have finally gotten up to date in the world and have wifi at home now. We were almost forced to with Sadie's classes. But Sophie is loving it too because I gave her one of my old phones and she now can text when wifi is available. I have been against her having a phone at this age. I didn't really give in to her...but decided that it is more convenient for me to be able to get in touch with her and she with me. So this is a trial run where there are many boundaries set. I hope she is able to stay inside her boundaries.
She loves the little bit of responsibilities and freedom that I am letting her try. We have had the conversation about rules and trust and respect. I can't believe she is old enough for all of this stuff. I still see her as my baby.
It's really hard to watch them grow up. It's fun. But it's hard too.
