Larry went with her to her last match at Texarkana. She said she couldn't have made it without him!!. They played 18 holes this day. She shot 101. I think she placed second. It's harder for her this year because she is the only girl on the golf team. She thinks she has to shoot the lowest round every time because there is nobody there to take her slack when she has a bad day.
I told her to have fun with it. This is her last year. She isn't playing golf in college so she doesn't have a big scholarship that she has to worry about losing. She just needs to have fun and make memories.
This is Sadie in calculus. She hates it. HATES IT!! Absolutely hates it. We are only two weeks into school and I get one of these pictures about every other day. It always says..... "I hate Calculus!!" I do feel her pain, but I am not much help when it comes to Calculus.
But all that goes away when she goes to the scrimmage game with Cameron. She is all smiles and doesn't think a thing about Calculus.
I feel confidant she will get it all figured out.
You know what stresses me out?? Other than calculus???
Senior stuff.!!!
The fact that she is a senior stresses me out alone. But all the stuff that goes along with senior stuff -
Senior pictures, Senior breakfast, Senior pillows, Senior yearbook ad, Senior jeans - and this is just the first two weeks!
So, all the girls decide that it will be fun to all get together and do their Scrapper jeans. (First of all, that is only fun if you are a crafty person. If you are not a crafty person, then it just stresses you out.) But we go. (Second, if you are not a crafty person, then you don't know what supplies you are going to need to do Scrapper jeans.) So we go to Walmart and I just start throwing random stuff in the buggy that I think would might work for Scrapper jeans... ribbon, lace, blingy stones, orange and black puffy paint, etc.
Wrong!!!! We get to the church and sweet little Sadie (pictured above smiling like everything is okay and we are having fun) has a melt down. Everyone (and their crafty moms) are decorating their jeans. Sadie tries a couple of things and doesn't like how it looks. She starts looking around at everyone's jeans and their cute material and crafty things that they got at Hobby Lobby and other craft stores and she is totally deflated!! Shoulders sunken, lip pooched, teary eyed...and attitude.
I immediately went 'Rita' on her. My thought was to just to just throw them away and go to the house. I didn't do that. I did get a little attitude too and told her this was suppose to be fun and we were going to have fun or we were going to go home. She put her stuff up and I made the comment to her that I would just pay someone to make the jeans because it was just not worth all the heartache.
A few minutes later, I got her stuff back out and started laying it out. Putting things together and started gluing it on. Sadie came back over there and started getting into it because she liked how it was going. All was going well until I stood up and looked from afar and realized that I had spelled "Senior" wrong. I spelled it "Senoir"! (I'm a dork) (I was appalled and disappointed) My first intention was AGAIN to throw them away and just pay someone to make her some, but Sadie liked them and wanted to fix them. So we spent the rest of the time fixing my screw up and I worked some more on them the next day at home. They didn't turn out bad. Sadie was okay with them and that's all that matters in the end.
So, with my experience I made Sophie and Molly some Scrapper jeans too. That was my plan when we went to the church. I was going to work on Sophie and Molly some and Sadie was going to do hers.
They weren't as elaborate as Sadie's, but they absolutely love them!!!
I used some old jeans because, well because I didn't want to mess up brand new jeans. The pair that I used for Molly's had holes in the knees. She ABSOLUTELY hated the holes in them. I buy jeans with holes in them for Sadie and Sophie and Molly won't wear them if they have holes in them. Go figure.!
Anyway, I thought it was clever to cover up the holes in the knees with the ribbon. Now Molly won't know the difference. Clever!!
Sophie missed the whole crafty weekend because she was at Tandie's. It's probably better that she did because I can only handle one child pouting at a time. Sophie tried hers on as soon as she got home. She loves them!! My only problem with her is that they look a little short on her and she will probably be flooding all football season because I am NOT doing another pair.
Go Scrappers!!
