Remember the story about the star chart that I fixed for Molly when she says her verse at Awanas? Well. It has been a great success! She has said her verse every week since we started the star chart. I picked her up from class last week and asked her teacher if she said her verse. The teacher said, "Not only did Molly say her verse. Molly also lead the prayer for snack time!"
She got 2 stars that night and got treated with ice cream for supper. It's the little things.
Of course, I made Sophie a star chart too. She doesn't ever have any problems memorizing or saying her verses, but I wasn't going to leave her out for the treats. So she gets stars too and is a great example for Molly.
This sweet picture is from a couple of weeks ago when I took the day off and Molly and I hung out all day together.
We got alot accomplished that day. She is a mess and would like for us to stay home together every day. Almost every morning she will ask if it can be a stay at home day together. Oh how I wish we could do it more often!
She clings to me when it's just the two of us. This is how is usually starts.
I have been practicing alot. I don't know if I will ever get there. But I would love to. This is usually what it looks like. Sometimes it's me and Molly. Sometimes it's me and Sophie. Occasionally it's me and Sadie. Sometimes I go in my room and shut my door.
We have also been doing alot of processing lately. Sophie's two deer she killed has made work for everybody. Larry cut up all the deer meat. I have been making jerky like crazy. Molly loves to help with the packaging and the making of the jerky.
These girls have been busy studying. I can't believe we are at progress report time again. Sadie is ready for this semester to be over. Sophie just lives in the moment. I wish I could make time stand still.
In 9 short months, Sadie will be off to college. It's depressing me just to think about it. Sophie cries when Sadie talks about it. I laugh at Sophie to keep me from crying about it.
It will definitely be an adjustment for all of us.
