Saturday night before spring break week, we were in Fayetteville visiting the BFF and Sadie got a call that Cameron had an accident at work. She didn't know alot except that he was at the hospital and had gotten burned and was going to be transferred to Children's in the next half hour. Of course panic set in.
We didn't want to leave, but had no choice but to go check on Cameron. We loaded the vehicle and left for Little Rock at 9:30 pm. We got a hotel room and Larry and the little girls went to sleep. It was after midnight at this point. Sadie and I went to the hospital and finally got into the burn unit.
Sadie got to go in and see Cameron. It made her feel so much better to get to see him in person and know that he was alright.
Cameron was dumping the fryer grease and dropped it and it splashed up on his face, neck and chest. He suffered mostly 2nd degree burns. Suffered is a large and appropriate word for this story. Bless his bones - I can't imagine the intense pain!
Sadie visited him Sunday before we came home for a minute, then we drove back up Monday.
He got to come home Tuesday, but was still in quite a bit of pain for a few more days. He is healing really well and we are all thankful that he is okay.
Sophie cried as many tears as Sadie did during all of this. Molly has asked every day how Cameron's "grease" is doing. Sadie has visited and helped nurse Cameron almost every day since he got home. Sophie almost refuses to go to Western Sizzlin to eat anymore (because that is where the accident happened.) Cameron is almost back completely to his routine. There was an insane amount of people praying for Cameron and our God is awesome.
