The night before Easter we decorated eggs. It's a tradition.
Sophie and I have been explaining to Molly that Easter is about Jesus rising from the tomb on the 3rd day and that it has nothing to do with eggs and bunnies. We have gone over this many times as Easter has been approaching. One morning while getting ready for work and school, Molly put it all together and said, "Hey it's just like Christmas is Jesus' birthday." I said exactly!! She then wrinkled her forehead and said, "What did Jesus do on President's Day?"
Cameron got to come over to help dye eggs. He didn't stay long but we were so glad to see him get out and about.
I always dread these messy little projects, but it is always worth it and I am always glad that I let them do it.
We had no spills and no accidents. Only smiles, hugs, kisses and pretty eggs.
Easter wasn't really the same this year. We didn't have a big family get together. It was Sunday church and afternoon fishing. Missed my family this year.
We did lunch at Fisherman's Cove. I had a ham, but didn't lay it out to thaw and didn't want to stay in the house all day while it cooked.
Then we hid eggs in the yard for Sophie and Molly.
