Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays..... we are bombarded with birthdays after Christmas!  As head of the house, Larry, had a birthday on January 9th.  When you turn 46, it's usually not as big of a deal.  It's still your special day and we still celebrate, but he really doesn't get excited about his birthday.  So, we did a few gifts and took him to Pablanos for his birthday dinner.  Molly picked Pablanos because she wanted him to wear the hat and have everyone sing to him.  He only agreed because Molly said that is what she wanted....AND she promised him that she would stand beside him while they sang.  She secretly wished she hadn't made that promise.

Next is Sadie's birthday, January 23rd.  This is what happened on Sadie's birthday.

That's right absolutely nothing.  Didn't see her.
At all.
It was sad.

Then Molly's birthday was on February 2nd.  When you are turning six years old, you start counting down to your birthday way before you even should.  It is tiresome, but excitement is what this girl loves so she is good at it.  Molly's birthday was going to be on a Thursday.  That is a hard day to have a birthday when our schedule is full.  I didn't know how we were going to handle that.  My thought was to celebrate the weekend after.

Then Larry decided to let Molly and Sophie invite some friends over for a weiner roast.  He didn't really plan it for Molly's birthday I don't think.  He just picked out a day that we didn't have a basketball game, or church, and that it wasn't going to be too awfully cold outside.  That day was Tuesday, before Molly's birthday.

He told Molly and Sophie that they could each invite three friends over.  He got stuff for hot dogs and smores and some hangers for roasting.

Molly invited her two faves, Carter and Warren.  I'm not sure what happened to the third.  She talked about inviting Marlee but I don't think she got the invitation.

Sophie invited Journey, Madison, and Anna Kate.  Madison had a basketball game and couldn't make it and Anna Kate had to cancel at the last minute.  Sophie wasn't upset.  She was good with just she and Journey hanging out.  Larry built them their own little camp fire.  They thought they were cool and did their own thing.

Molly entertained well.  The boys ripped and romped all over the place and Molly was with them every step they made.  The only times they sat still was when the ipad was out.  (I know why God didn't give me boys.)

They roasted marshmallows.  I'm pretty sure that Molly didn't like to eat them, but she loved cooking them.

Larry got the drones out and let the big girls play with them.  They would fly it until it crashed and then sent the little ones to go retrieve it to do it again.

Warren and Carter brought Molly a birthday present even though they weren't supposed to, so we stuck a candle in a cupcake and sang Happy Birthday to her.

I don't know about the rest of them, but Sophie and Molly were worn out after all of that.

On Wednesday, a friend of ours sent these little ground hog cupcakes to Molly.  They were the cutest things ever!  I wish I had talent to do some stuff like that.

Then Thursday was the big day!  Breakfast birthday pancakes was the start of the Princess Molly day!  Everyone made it super special for her all day long.  She was all smiles and took full advantage of it being her birthday.

We had our regular routine...school, dance, Sophie's ballgame, then dinner at Western Sizzlin.

Molly's favorite!!
