This past weekend we did a first.... Larry, Sadie, and I went to Memphis to the 2009 St. Jude Classic PGA Golf Tournament. It was my very first professional golf tournament. It was even Larry's very first professional golf tournament. It was even Sadie's first ever any-kind-of golf tournament.

There was a storm that came through Sunday morning which caused a game delay that pushed the tee times later, so we didn't get to stay for the whole day. But Brian Gay ran away with it and was the winner this year.

I was upset that Sergio didn't make the cut. He is my favorite. (professional that is) He was long gone before we even got to Memphis. I'm sure he would have stayed if he knew I was coming.

Phil was there. We watched him a few holes. He is a really good golfer and good with the fans. It was cool to see him. Prayers for his wife, Amy, who recently was diagnosed with breast cancer.

I found a new favorite that I will be watching. His name is Graeme McDowell. He plays golf really well. (in pink pants) Larry got his autograph for me.

Camilo Villegas was there. I was glad to get to see him too. He is known as "spiderman" because he gets down on the green to read his putts. I also happen to know, after this weekend, that he wears Under Armor briefs.
I was sitting literally about 7 feet away from his ball behind the 1st hole. He stood behind me to read his putt and then directly in front of me. Sadly, he didn't preform the spiderman for us this time.

And John Daly is back off of his suspension. This was his first tournament back. He is making a big come back in some cool bright threads. I hope he does well.

We all really enjoyed the tournament and will definitely try to attend another PGA event. Sophie would have not had a good time and I am glad that MeMe persuaded me to let her stay with her. Maybe when she gets older she will want to go with us.
**These photos are web images. I couldn't take my camera in so I didn't get any photos. I was bummed about that.
