Yesterday Sadie had to dissect a frog in her science class. I was astounded that in the 6th grade they are tearing into what once where live animals. I can say that Sadie was a little apprehensive the last couple of weeks, absolutely to the point of dreading it. But after it was over, she said that it wasn't as bad as she thought it was going to be.

I can remember dissecting things in high school.....not elementary school. And as I look at these pictures, I can remember the smell in the hall ways. It's a smell I will never forget.

Sadie wanted to show Sophie her pictures that she took of the innards of the frog. I said no. Her plea was that Sophie wants to be a Vet when she grows up and she needs to know about anatomy. My plea was that she is only FOUR YEARS OLD and you will definitely FREAK HER OUT.

Besides, they will probably have her dissecting something next year in kindergarten anyway, she will figure it out then.

Way too funny! I remember my frog, he had a rock in his stomach. Hopefully they won't have to dissect cats. That's where I would have to draw the line.
