Friday was Sophie's first school program. She was a pumpkin in the Kindergarten Halloween Program. She was was the prettiest pumpkin in the world, at least her Mama thinks so.

I will apologize now for all of the pictures and the long post, but I just couldn't leave some of these out. The participation in the songs and the moves were just the sweetest thing!

Especially the facial expressions. I would give lots of pennies for these thoughts.....

But she had a good time. She said her one line, ever so softly, and she was so proud to be a pumpkin in the Halloween Music Program.

And I was so proud of this little pumpkin.

She sang, she danced, she laughed...

with all of the other little pumpkins, scarecrows, skeletons, monsters, and bats.

Then it was time for trick or treat Saturday.

She decided to be a witch some time ago. I think maybe July or August. That was way too early to be deciding what you want to be for Halloween.

But she stuck with it. Every time I would ask her she would say she wanted to be a witch.

She only wavered one time. AFTER I had gotten the witch costume. Then I broke the news to her that it was too late to change her mind and she was going to have to be a witch.

But then she was fine with that again and turned out to be a beautiful little witch.

Sadie on the other hand, my sweet Sadie, the one who has said that she was too old to dress up for Halloween, decided that she and Kelsey were going to dress up as nerds and meet each other on Main Street for the trick or treating.

They planned it for days. They talked on the phone about it and coordinated what they were going to wear. Right down to the toe socks and flip flops and untied ribbons in their hair, the pig tails and suspenders, it was all planned out.

The capris were a must because that would make their colorful toe socks stick out more. This way, they were dressed up enough to go to the Main Street Trick or Treat, but they weren't trick or treating. No. They were too old for that!

So, Sadie did her part. Even played the part well during my picture taking. She could have passed for Steve Erkel.
But we walked up and down Main Street and Kelsey never came!

Sadie was so disappointed and I think a little embarrassed. You know it's always easier to dress up and be silly if your best friend is doing it too!

I think she was adorable! I think Sophie was glad she dressed up with her. But I don't think Sadie will ever dress up again for Halloween.

Such a cute, cute post! I almost cried, ok, I did cry at Dylan's 1st program! I cried at his first baseball game too but that's a whole different story!

Love the Halloween outfits too! How dare her BFF not show up! Did she at least get any candy or was she too upset to trick or treat?

Dylan always ends up with 2 or 3 costumes because he changes his mind so much! This year, I didn't fall for it! So, he dressed up as Biker Trash using all my Harley gear. His dad asked him if he was going as a gay biker since it was my chaps, etc... I didn't get any pictures!

Sadie should have come up here and got Samuel to go with her. He can turn into a nerd in no time! LOL

I agree, Sophie is about the cutest pumpkin and witch that I've seen in a very long time!

Love, love, love the pics and post. I just love Halloween. I know how much you do too!! From now on Sophie will have Molly to dress up with and Sadie will be off the hook until she gets older and will want to dress up again. LOL!
