Dance Recital 2011

This years recital was twice as stressful, twice as expensive, twice as fun, and twice as beautiful because two of my girls were in it.  And was it worth it?  You bet your tutu it was!

This was Sadie's first year to take dance.  She did a wonderful job.  She danced beautiful and graceful and looked like she had been doing it for years.
Sadie had three performances.  A ballet routine, a jazz routine, and a tap routine.  Her favorite was the jazz routine.  I did not get a picture of her jazz routine because I was back stage changing Sophie during her dress rehearsal Saturday, and Sunday you couldn't take pictures.  But for Sunday's show, she was AWESOME!

She was beautiful in all of her costumes, but this one was her favorite costume.  I think the ballet dress was gorgeous on her. (and yes....I cried!)
These pictures are not very good quality because of the lighting.  I hope to have a better quality camera by next year and take better pictures because I love the preforming shots.
This is Sophie's second year of dance.  She showed much improvement from last year and is a beautiful dancer too.
She had two performances.  A ballet routine and a tap routine.  I loved, loved both of them.  Her costumes were just too cute!!
Sophie informed me that she is going to take dance every year FOREVER.  She then wants to be a dance teacher just like Miss Lana.  I think Larry was wanting some softball in there somewhere.  I think he might have a better shot with Molly.  Sophie is just not interested at all.
Sadie has made new friends during this dance season also.  Alot of these girls are from home, but some are a few years younger than she is and she hasn't ever had the opportunity to be around them.  She ended up loving these girls and can't wait to start back in the fall to see them.

There were lots of nerves there for Sadie.  The lights, the crowd....a little stage fright, but she pulled it off.  That girl acted like she was comfortable up there.  I got lots of compliments on her because it was her first year and she looked like she had been doing this for years.
I have a feeling that she and Sophie feel the same way.  The FOREVER thing is going to kill me if Molly likes dance.  Can you imagine???  Three girls???

 Lord, Help!

Sadie helped Sophie alot back stage while I was running back and forth so I wouldn't miss their dances.  Sophie helped Sadie alot with preparing her with what to expect and when.  Sophie was the old pro, ya know.
This girl is so bashful when someone she doesn't know speaks to her.  You can not tell it when she's up on that stage.  She gives it all she has and then some.

I don't know where they got it, but both of my girls have a little bit of soul in them.  It's like it is natural for both of them.
It was a crazy week!!  Rehearsals, long nights, lots of fast food, juggling kids everywhere, dress rehearsals, make-up, curlers, hairspray, sequins, lipstick, pictures......and now that it's over.....I can't wait until next year's recital!   Really!  I love to watch them, but these are times that they will never forget!

Pour some sugar on me.....and you don't know where they get it from? LOL!!! Girl, they get it from their MOMMA!! I love it. Lord help me if Larry tries to make my sweet Molly into a Tomboy!!!

Heaven to Betsy those are the most beautiful girls!! Inside and out! I know you are proud of them. Now you probably know how Rita feels with you and hairspray and glitter and dresses .... whew! Yep, they take right after their Momma! And I love them!

Where was Molly this whole time? I needed to be there to kiss her and love her while you rescued the big girls!

I pray Presley takes gymnastics or something!
