Last week was Vacation Bible School at our church.  Sophie was away with MeMe and Spencer at Camp and didn't get to participate.

Sadie and I decided to help because they had our VBS at night this year.  We were leaders of the Kindergarten group.  We had about 10 kids, on average, each night.  We led them around to each station, each night.  I don't know why I picked the Kindergarten group.  I think I just got all excited and in the moment I just volunteered for the first spot they said they needed help in.

It was a fun week.  The kids had plenty of things to do and it was very organized so that there wasn't any down time.  It was constant fun for every one of them.

They had crafts....

They had Bible Class, where they stayed very interested in the story of Saul and then Paul.  It amazed me how much these little ones retained each day.  They could repeat the lesson from the night before almost word for word.

Of course they all loved recreation.

I never heard a total number for the kids that were there all week.  But it was a pretty large crowd.  There were 8 groups with leaders, so if everyone had the same average as we did, you are talking about 80 kids roughly.

Music was a big hit too.  This year's theme was about roller coasters.  I think every kid could relate.  I mean what kid doesn't like roller coasters?? Or at least the thought of roller coasters..
The songs were very catchy and I will admit that I am still singing them over and over in my head.  I even attempted to download a couple of them off of iTunes, but I couldn't find them on there.

Then there was Missions Class.  Mrs. Power always had fun games and great examples weaved into her lesson.  Here the kids were on a virtual roller coaster.

Molly had a fun time at VBS too.  She was too little to be in a class, but she loved going and being with the big kids in the welcome session and then going to play with the babies.  I just had a hard time keeping her off the stage.  She would get up there by herself and just dance away!!  She didn't care who was watching.

By the end of the week, we were all worn slap dab out, even though we though we did have a good time.  I hate Sophie missed it, but I know she had a blast too at Camp.  She had many many stories to tell us, and according to MeMe, Sophie's week wore them all out too!

I loved VBS when I was young. Always the highlight of my summer!
