I finally got my Sadie home.  It feels good to have them all home together again.

Sadie had quite an adventurous trip.  She will have stories to tell for weeks!
The highlights that stressed me out were,
1.  They had a blowout on the church bus on the way to Little Rock.
2.  One of the teens got swiped by a truck when they were shopping in Antigua.  She is okay, just bruised ribs.
3.  The girls' and boy's dorm passed a stomach bug around all week.  Luckily Sadie didn't catch it.
4.  There was an earthquake!  The major damage was in San Marcos, Mexico.  There they had collapsed buildings and mudslides and injuries.  Sadie said they felt the earthquake were they were, but luckily there was do damage there.
5.  A sweet lady in their group got detained by customs when returning.  The group had to leave her there uncertain of what was going to happen.  Since then we have learned that she (Molly) had to return to her home country of India.  She will be able to apply for a new Visa and hopefully return to the states soon.
6.  Then when they finally got over Little Rock and ready to land, wind sheers from a huge thunderstorm prevented them from landing.  They diverted their flight to Monroe, LA, where they sat on the plane for an hour and a half before returning back to Little Rock.

All of that is enough to make a momma pull out some of these gray hairs!!  Nevertheless, she is home safe and sound.  None of that has deterred Sadie from wanting to go back next year.  She hated to leave Guatemala.

Sadie told me that she spent the first couple of days in the baby and toddler dorm.  She played with them and loved on them, but never really felt a connection.  She said that she stepped back a little and then "Andres" happened.  She said Andres came up to her, looked for her, loved on her, asked about her and needed her.  She spent lots of time with him and she hated to leave him.
He hated for her to leave.
They both cried buckets.

Bless her soul!!  She has been saving all summer, all of her money, to buy her a new iphone  She had been giving me her money to save so that she wouldn't spend it.  When she got home, she told me that she wanted to use that money that she had saved to sponsor Andres.  She was sad because he has been at the orphanage since February and doesn't have a sponsor.

Blessings!!
