Cheer Clinic 2014

Sophie looks forward to the cheer clinic every year.  She was a little offended this year when one of her friends told her that cheer camp was for babies.  Sophie said that cheer camp isn't for babies, it's for girls that want to be cheerleaders.  I told her that she was exactly right and she could go as long as she wanted to.  And she did!!

This year there were 130 little girls that went to cheer clinic that week.  It grows larger every year.  I don't know how those cheerleaders handle that many girls, but they did it and did it well.

I knew that Molly would be heart broken if Sophie was at the game Friday cheering with all those other little girls and she couldn't go down there.  She wouldn't understand.  I also knew that she was too young to really participate.  But it didn't matter.  I decided that she would go and practice all week and if she froze up at the game and didn't cheer, it would be just fine.

So, we had practice on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.  The first day Molly wouldn't even participate.  She just stood there. She picked to be in Sadie's group and I thought that would help.  It didn't.

We got home that evening and I asked Sophie to show me the cheers and dance that they learned.  Sophie started preforming and Molly jumped right in.  She may not have participated at practice, but she soaked it all in.

Tuesday's practice was a little better according to Sophie.  Molly ditched Sadie's group and went to Kailee's group.  She did participate more.

All through the week, we heard the cheers, chants, and saw the dance a million times.  Sophie had all the stuff perfected!! Molly was getting better every day.  I was still anticipating her not doing a thing at the actual performance time.

MeMe came down for the pep rally and the game.  She had to watch all of her little cheerleaders perform.

The first performance was at the tailgate party.  We arrived and strolled around a bit and then the girls lined up to perform.  I got absolutely no pictures of the tailgate performance because I was in the back and there was no way to fight all those parents for the front row.  As I expected, Sophie cheered her little heart out while Molly just stood there silently still.

No harm, No foul.

Sadie did her thing after the little girls performed.  She is cuteness all wrapped up with a bow on top.

Molly seemed to enjoy that...

Then the little girls walked over to the football field and preformed pregame.

And to my surprise... Molly stood right beside Sophie and did every single cheer, every chant, and the whole dance.

Super proud of these little girls.

Both of them!

The did AWESOME!

So I know that next year, Molly will be more prepared and not as scared.  She will be a pro like her big sister Sophie!!!
