I have loved every minute of watching her grow up and I am sad that my days are numbered with her being my little girl and so close to me in proximity. I know she will be fine, but it is sad to me how the days are so long but the years pass by so quickly.!!
So, I'm not going to think about that right now. I'm just going to wish my sweet Sadie a happy 17th birthday. I love you today and every day!!!
To celebrate her birthday, we planned a bonfire at our house and she invited some friends to come over. The boys and girls basketball teams made it to the finals in the Bankers Classic so immediately after the games that night everyone came over.
Larry stayed home so that he could get the fire going good for them. We had everything ready that we could get ready until right at the time.
We decorated the deck with lights and got tiki torches to light a path to the bonfire. We got hot dogs and fixings and smores fixings and let Sadie take care of the rest.
Molly was impressed with the lights and just the thought of Sadie's friends being there. Sophie was excited about the party until she came to the realization that I wasn't going to let her hang out with them. Needless to say she was pretty upset about that and ended up just going to bed.
Sadie wouldn't let me force everyone to take a group picture. I tried to sneak out there once a get a couple of pictures, but of course it was too dark and I didn't want to embarrass her. So, there are no pictures (that I know of) of all the ones who came.
I hope she had a good birthday celebration and she knows that we all love her very much!!
