Caution:  Picture Overload!!

It doesn't happen very often in south Arkansas that we get snow.  But when we do the schools shut down, the banks shut down, all offices close, and it's a holiday!  We have had a little sleet and slush and the threat of snow the last couple of months.  But after waiting and waiting, we finally got a snow day.

Of course, I took off early and went home so we could all play together.
The girls were so excited!!!
I love these smiling faces!

We all bundled up and headed outside.  Sadie picked out some mittens for Molly to wear because they fit better on her hand.  She was not impressed and she wanted gloves like everyone else had.  Sadie told her they were the same and even better than gloves.  Molly said that mittens were for cats and she wasn't wearing them.  So we cut one of the fingers out of the gloves and she was happy!!

On top of Sadie's list was to make a snowman.  Not just any snowman, but an awesome snowman.  She would only use the snow from the deck because she didn't want any grass in it.

Larry took off early too so that he could get in on the fun.  It didn't take long for the snowball wars to start.

Cameron had his parents bring him over so that he could play with us in the snow.  He and Sadie worked hard on the snowman while the rest of us played.

Molly was so excited she didn't know what to do first.  She tried to ride her 4wheeler, but it wouldn't get any traction in the snow.

I was afraid I wasn't getting enough pictures.  I would get my camera out and then put it up to play, then get my camera out then put it up to play.

I ended up with some pretty pictures and am so glad I went the back and forth process.

The girls were so glad that Cameron came.  He's pretty frequent at our house now.  We all like Cameron and he's fits in good with the rest of us.

Sophie taught Molly how to do a snow angel.  She thought it was pretty cool stuff and even got Larry to do a snow angel with her.

At one point the snowball wars got a little intense.  Sophie was pinging me and Sadie with snowballs.

Sadie fired back and she and Cameron took control of the deck, using the snowman as their barricade.

Molly was even in on the snowball wars except she could only hit someone if she was right next to them, so I was basically her target every time.

I was trying to deflect snowballs coming at Molly,

and fire my own at the same time.

Everyone was easy on Molly and her Dad and I protected her from most of the attacks.

But Sadie started a war with Dad that didn't end well for her.

She kept coming back for more, so he gave her more.

She finally got him back when he was sitting down to catch his breath. (She wore him out fighting back.)  She got him good!

They decided to call a truce and let sleeping dogs lie.  She went back to building her snowman.  Larry went inside to warm up.

I love the sweet faces of my babies as they played in the snow.

There was pure enjoyment and fun that can not be posed for.  Even the "I'm gonna get you look" from Sadie is happiness.  You can see it in her eyes.

There is no way you can make someone pretend to be this happy and excited.
It warms my heart even when it is snowing and 26 degrees.

Terry, Becky, Tessa, and Raylee came over and they went out for round two on the sled.  Molly wasn't sure about it at first, but it didn't take her long to love it.  Sophie loves being the big kid that takes care of the little ones.  She loved the sled too, but that was just extra stuff.

The finished product of the snowman that took forever to build because it had to be perfectly proportioned and perfectly decorated and perfectly everything.
They were all proud of him and he was happy too!!

I'm glad we don't get snow very often.  Not only because I don't like the cold, but also because it makes it that much more special when it does happen and we get to make memories that will last a lifetime!
