Sophie had been watching the advertisements and marking the days until 'Inside Out' came out in theaters. She was dying to go!! Sadie and Cameron decided that they wanted to take her, which was sweet of two teenagers who happen to love those kinds of movies too. So, they surprised her and picked her up from Verna's and they all went to Texarkana. They had big fun and were arguing before they made it home. That is normal, so all is well.
While they were gone, MeMe came down for a visit. We let Molly pick a place to go out to eat, that is her favorite thing to do these days. She picked "Fish Cove" because she loves their hushpuppies.
Everybody gave MeMe lots of loving and attention because they love their MeMe.
The main reason for the visit was a funeral. A friend, that is like family, lost a son and we went to the memorial and to visit them.
Not a good occasion, but we tried to make the best of the weekend. Afterwards, we took the girls to the pool. (You can find us there most days of the week when it is not raining.)
Sadie's friend, Adley, is lifeguarding this summer. She is a sweet sweet girl and loves to play with the kids. Sophie love loves her. Molly loves her too but can never remember her name. She calls her Adalynn, Adney, Addy.....usually something close but not quite right. Adley doesn't mind. She just laughs about it. I bet by the end of this summer she will have it down though.
Sadie and Adley sometimes get in with the girls and play games with them. This day is was throwing Sophie as high as they could. It was quite comical to watch. Sophie gets her non-gracefulness from me I'm afraid.
This was also Father's Day weekend. We made our usual trip to Delight. The first stop was the cemetery. All the way over there Sophie said out loud to herself that she "wasn't going to cry this time." We stopped at the store and I let her pick out something to leave for her Daddy. We usually do flowers but I thought we would shake it up a little bit and there are usually good flowers there already when we go. She picked out a little garden stone and we got a sharpie and she wrote a little note on the back of it. She seems pleased with that.
And this time is the first time that she didn't cry. Bless her bones!! I know it is hard for her.
We then went to my Daddy's for a visit. I should have gotten a picture with him. I thought about it when we first got there and then I left without getting one. I could tell that he wasn't feeling very good. Maybe next time I will remember to get one and he will be feeling better.
Then on Monday we had a consultation appointment with the ENT. Since January of this year Molly has had strep throat 4 times. One round of antibiotics will get rid of it (so far), but our family doctor wanted us to consider taking those tonsils out.
We were in the waiting room and Larry was explaining where her tonsils were and that we were going to talk to the doctor about taking them out. I can't help but laugh at the look on her face. She is deeply concerned about this.
But after talking to the doctor, we decided to wait a little while and see if this doesn't work itself out without surgery. So, no more strep throat Molly!!!

alright - who died? You two look dang good! I'd love to catch up with Rita. And yes, bless her bones for not crying. I say it out loud too but usually end up in tears before I leave the cemetery!!
