Sadie, who is very sheltered, was excited about the hotel and the adventures. She sure hated leaving Cameron behind. But she there was much to do to keep her mind occupied.
The first night we went to the Rodeo.
Sadie opted to ride the shuttle bus with the rest of the girls. So, Larry and I went to eat before the rodeo. We both enjoyed it. I love rodeos. We sent a picture back to a friend at work showing him that we were having a "large time."
Larry snuck off by himself when he located some of the Razorbacks at the rodeo. He got a selfie with Alex Collins. He was excited about that.
I picked out a few cowboys to keep an eye on. I love cowboys.
We really had a good time and I know Sophie and Molly would have loved it too. Missed them not being there with us.
We made it back to the hotel. Sadie called and said she was starving. I told her to call and order a pizza for them to all share. She said, "They are still open?" I assured her that the pizza place would be open really late in Memphis. She asked me if I was going to go pick it up for her. I told her to call it in and they would deliver it. She said, "They do that?"
***sheltered***
I assured her they would. Next thing I know she is knocking on my room door. She was a little scared to call. I snickered, placed her order, gave her some money, and they enjoyed pizza about 20 minutes later.
She was super impressed.
The next morning, Sadie had to be up and at breakfast with the group at 630am. This would be the every morning routine for rehearsals. I elected to sleep in and rest. We got ready and took the girls to Beale Street for lunch on their break. We ate at Silky's.
After lunch it was back to rehearsals for the girls. Larry and I went to the pyramid where they made a Bass Pro there.
It was huge. There were two levels of shopping. Two levels of rooms you could rent as hotel rooms. A restaurant or two. Then you could ride the elevator to the top of the pyramid for a mere $10 per head, where there was an observation deck and a bar/restaurant.
We shopped and took the ride to the top. Larry wouldn't go out on the observation deck. He is super scared of heights. But I got my $20 worth.
We then went back to the hotel for a little nap. Sadie woke me up when she sent me this picture. I did feel a little guilty that I was napping and she was worn out from being up so early. A little.
That night we went to the Incredible Pizza Place. They had closed the place for the group.
It wasn't just the dance performers. It was also all 25 bands that were performing during the half time show. So the place was packed.
The buffet was huge. They arcade was even bigger.
We hung out while the girls spent their arcade money.
This was New Year's Eve night. I am old enough that staying up til midnight is a rare occurrence. It was a good thing I took a nap.
We saw these three crosses in the nearby town of Germantown. They are beautiful to see in person.
