Sadie's 18th birthday.
What a beautiful person she has turned into. I can't believe she is legally an adult. I can easily work myself up into tears just thinking about it. So, I'm not going to. That has been my motto about it all - eighteen, graduation, college. Just don't think about it and maybe I can just savor the moments and it will last longer.
Right or wrong, we got up Saturday on Sadie's birthday and we went to the casino. She has always wanted to go and I wanted her to get the full effect of being an adult today. I gave her some spending money and talked to her about responsibility.
I have a feeling she won't have a problem with gambling. She likes holding on to her money too much to be giving it away that easy. She came home with most of the money I gave her. I think she had fun, but it won't be something that she just is dying to do.
We spent a little time with the girls and colored a bit before the basketball game. Molly was excited about the cake and kept begging for a piece. I told her she had to wait until after the game. She decided that was okay.
We went to the game and watched Sadie cheer. The girls team was in the finals of the Banker's Classic.
After the game, some of her sweet friends had decorated her car with balloons and paper and such. Then they took her eat at Pablanos.
Then they all ended up at our house for a little cake and karaoke.
Sophie and Molly loved having them there.
Happy Birthday to my sweet sweet Sadie. Life with you is fun. I am thankful for the 18 years that I have known you and loved you. I can't wait to see many many more!
