Vacation 2016 was pretty great. We wanted to do something special and something that we hadn't done before because Sadie is leaving the nest. So we planned a cruise.
We left on a Wednesday morning headed to New Orleans.
I'm pretty sure the girls were excited for our adventure, as Molly called it. We had all been looking forward to it.
We didn't get out of town good until the bottom fell out. I had been checking the weather forecast and it showed a good chance of rain most of the days we were going to be there. There's not much you can do about it after it's already booked. So we just went with it.
We stopped in Shreveport to eat breakfast. That was an adventure all in itself. These girls started picking at each other and I told them if they didn't act right I was going to leave both of them there.
They made up really really fast.
Molly just wanted pancakes.
Larry drove the whole way there. We had plans of switching but for some reason that didn't happen. I was okay with it.
We stopped in Lafayette and ate lunch at Prejean's. It was only fitting right??
Molly and Larry checked out the alligator.
I was the only one that ordered "cajun" food.
Larry said ordered a shrimp poboy and he thought that was cajun enough. Sadie got a hamburger. Sophie and Molly had chicken strips.
Doesn't matter to me. My gumbo was exactly what I had been waiting for.
We were back on the road with bellies full.
Sadie and Sophie took a nap. Molly watched a movie.
We arrived in New Orleans at about 5:00. Getting to the hotel was a little tricky, but we did it. We stayed on Royal Street so we could have an easy walk to all things New Orleans.
Sadie and Larry checked on the beds and Sophie checked out the other business.
Molly realized really quick that there wasn't enough room for everyone to sleep. She said that she could sleep in this chair.
After sitting in it, I realized one thing for sure and that was that I was NOT sleeping in that chair. We called down and ordered a roll away bed for Molly.
Then we were off to Bourbon Street.....
