She got to ride in the vehicle on the way there. This was great news to her because she hates riding in the van. She had a bad experience last year on the way to Siloam with car sickness, but the drive was way curvy then. The van also doesn't have great air conditioning, so she was too excited about her placement in the back of the suburban.
The boys had to ride in the van on the way there. This is the girl crew headed out of town.
I am thankful for the moms that took pictures and posted them on Facebook. It was a long week for me not having her home. I was good to see the pictures and see that she was having a good time.
They stayed in the dorm rooms, which Sophie loves. She feels like a big girl going to college. She was not impressed with the community bathrooms at this college. This was a first for her and she thought it was awful.
It was a fun filled week. She said there was not alot of down time either. They kept these kids busy!
This year her color was blue. She took all the blue she had with her. Every grade has a different color and they compete in games against each other.
She had lots of stories to tell when she got home. I didn't let her take her cell phone with her. I regretted that several times while she was gone. She wouldn't have had much time to talk anyway, but it probably would have eased my mind a little more.
I know we really missed her while she was gone. Molly was literally counting down the days until she got home.
This picture was funny to me. They went tarantula hunting one night. The look on her face is priceless. I asked her when she got home if they found any. She said the girls didn't, but the boys did find just one. She didn't look like she was sure about this.
They had music time daily, which Sophie loves, and of course there were moves to all of the songs.
After a long week, these girls were exhausted! Sophie also missed her bed. She had fun but was so glad to get back home to her bed and her family. Oh, and real food! She said that the food was awful and she survived on dry fruit loops that I sent with her for snacks and french fries.
We were really glad to get her back home with us!!
