We made hair appointments on registration day, since I was taking off early anyway. Mrs. Amy fixed them up good.
Sophie got about 3 inches cut off of her hair. She wanted a little shorter look, but still wanted to be able to put it up she wanted.
As soon as Sophie got done, Molly told Amy, "I want my hair just like Sophie's!!!" She we got a couple of inches cut off of Molly's.
We went straight from there to the schools to register and "meet the teachers." Molly already knew that she got Mrs. Blue for Kindergarten. But she had only seen pictures of her. She walked right in and found her name and sat at her desk. While I filled out papers, she asked lots of questions about what they would be learning and doing all day. I think this was the first time that she wasn't shy around someone she just met.
She still was a little stand-off-ish, but she did ask lots of questions.
Before we left, we got a picture of Molly with Mrs. Blue. She gave her a big hug and told her she would see her Monday morning!
We went straight to elementary and filled out all the papers for Sophie. Then we went around to meet all of her teachers. She has Mrs. Baker for homeroom, Mrs. Hainen, Mrs. Nichols, and Mrs. Howard. She was pretty excited about her homeroom and excited about everyone in her homeroom class. It still didn't make her ready for school, but she felt some relief after knowing what teachers she had.
When we got home I took a picture of them to show their hair cuts. They were both super proud of them and felt like rock stars.
It was also a first for Sophie that needs documentation. She did not want me to post it anywhere on Facebook, or tell anyone for that matter, but we went ahead and got her eyebrows waxed. It was a little earlier than I would have liked, but she has been so self conscious about her eyebrows. She was super proud that she did it and it does look good. I think it even makes her look older. (maybe I shouldn't have let her do that!!)
