We went back to Little Rock for a check up on Molly's hand.  They have been monitoring it and watching it grow.  We were on a two year schedule, so it had been a while since Molly had been.  She didn't really remember going before.  She got it confused with her broken leg trip to Children's.

We got there and checked in and got x-rays.  When she got in there and saw the doctor, she did remember her.  She acted silly and visited with the doctor and had a good checkup.  In fact Dr. Wyrick said that there was no need for us to keep coming for check-ups.  She said that Molly was using her hand perfectly and everything looks good.  She said we didn't have to come back.

This time I remembered to ask if I could take a picture of her x-ray.  I'm sure she will want to see it someday.  It is easy to see on the x-ray why they didn't want to take the risk to reconstruct.  She is writing and holding and throwing and eating and using it just like everyone else does.  It just looks a little different.

Syndactyly is the term for having fingers or toes that are joined.  We are not sure how or why, but in some cases this is hereditary.  Interestingly enough, my Grammy's sister, Cindy, had a daughter, Shelly, who had an extra toe.  A couple of Shelly's grandchildren had extra fingers.  Is this a gene that was passed around?  Who knows.  Who cares.

Molly knows that her hand is different and she knows that God makes everyone special.  My only concern is that everyone else realizes that.  Now-especially with her starting school.

Sadie's last date with Cameron before college.  They went to the Blue Hole.  They were supposed to float the river but their plans changed.

We had been trying to get there all summer.  Everyone's schedules couldn't fit together.  So, they went without us.  All I got was 2 pictures.

Saturday before college, Sadie and I took a trip to Texarkana.  Just me and Sadie.  No one else.  We had nothing planned.....just to go somewhere together alone.  We roamed around Texarkana and ate lunch and acted silly and had fun.

Then my heart was filled when we were walking through the mall and Sadie saw this sign out front by one of the stores.

We turned our butts around and went in and shopped.  It is so good to see all the verses on display!
