Battle of the Ravine is a huge deal in Arkadelphia.  Henderson and Ouachita battle it out every year and it is a week long event.  There are Battle of the Ravine festivities every night and the girls have to take turns "guarding the tiger" every night.  The anticipation peeks at the bon fire on Thursday night and the OBU/HSU pep rally at 5:30am on Friday morning.

I think it is pretty neat that they combine the pep rally.  Pretty good sports on both sides.  

Apparently it is a big deal.  I got phone calls that morning saying that it was on the news.

It would have been something to see.  I know I would have enjoyed it.  

Especially seeing both sides come together as one.  I don't think I have ever seen that.  I know I haven't.  

My girl did her thing and was pretty cute at it.

She said she was worn completely out because they had stayed up the whole night before guarding the tiger.  

I'm sure she was running on adrenaline and caffeine. 

But hey...It's a pretty big deal.

So they following day, we made the trip to the big game.  It was packed.  We dressed for winter and the sun was beaming down on our side and we were all burning up by the time the game started.  

The Tigers started off kinda slow and HSU was ahead at half time.  

We were so glad that MeMe made the trip to come watch.  She was cheering loud but it didn't help the Tigers much.

But after the half, OBU kicked it back into gear and came back and won the game.

So life is good for the Tigers and they have bragging rights....until next year and they will do it all over again.

And here is to Sadie's last football game to cheer.  (Unless she changes her mind AGAIN.)
