I saw a flyer for a fundraiser they were having for a local charity.  It was a Father/Daughter Dance and I immediately knew Molly would absolutely love it.

But first - I had to check with the father.

He was out of town on a hunting trip and I sent him a picture of the flyer.  He didn't hesitate.  He agreed without even asking many questions, which is so unlike him.  I asked Sophie if she would be interested in going.  To my surprise she said she would.  Then Sadie said she wanted to go.  Then I got a little excited because all three of them were going because I knew Molly would say heck yeah.

When I told Molly about the dance I had to explain it to her a little more than I thought I would.  She thought it was a dance competition and that she was going to win prizes for dancing. ha!  When she realized what it actually was she wasn't really disappointed at all, she just really insisted that Larry needed to practice before they went.

So the day arrived and they were all gussied up (We used that word alot that week because it happened to be one of Molly's vocabulary words as well.)
They all looked amazing!

Larry was super proud and was grinning from ear to ear.  Sadie wore a dress that she had gotten to wear to a formal at college and didn't get to go to because of conflicting schedules.  It was actually not a black dress.  I was surprised.
Sophie wore one of Sadie's old prom dresses, which she filled out quite nicely and that made me sad.
Molly wore a new dress that she had picked out a couple of weeks earlier when we went shopping.  We didn't know about the dance at the time, she just absolutely loves fancy dresses.

I didn't get to go to the dance.  I wish I could have peeked in just to watch.  Sadie said that Larry did in fact dance with each of them and she showed him a trick or two.  She said that she was the oldest daughter there by many years and she felt like the kids would think she was the wife instead of the daughter.  She is comfortable in her own skin though and that kind of stuff doesn't bother her.
She rocked it.

Sophie looked absolutely beautiful and so grown up.  Larry said that she didn't come out of her shell much.  She was one of the older ones there too.  He said she did dance but not as much as she would have if all her friends would have been there.  I am super proud that Larry is there for her, but I know at times like this she really misses her Daddy.  My heart hurts for her and I know I can't ever fix it for her.  I hope she just realizes that we try every day to help her fill the hole that it has left in her heart.

Larry, Sadie, and Sophie all said that this little girl showed out.  She was definitely in love with the dancing part of this night.  They told me that she was on the stage front and center and danced to every song.  I did see a few pictures from the night and she was on the stage and dancing in every one of them.  I can also attest that she came home complaining of her feet hurting too.  She had the best time and I am so very glad that Larry did this with the girls.  It is special to me.

As for me, I went and ate mexican food all by myself.
