Hot Springs Golf

Another beautiful golf weekend...

We went to Hot Springs Village and played two of the beautiful courses there, Granada and Isabella. They were challenging for me, the beginner golfer, but so much fun. The fairways were wide and long and there were bunkers everywhere.

I focused on my swing and did wonderful on the driving range, but somehow it doesn't work out that way consistently on the course....and my putting absolutely sucked!!! I could blame it on the greens because I decided that I hate bent grass greens, but I wont. I just couldn't get it to feel right. Couldn't find the line. Couldn't feel the speed. Couldn't hit the hole. All important aspects of putting.

I have figured out that one part of my golf game is better than others on certain days. If I am putting good this week, then I won't be able to hit a tee shot to save my life. If I am hitting my irons good then, I won't be able to chip anything. I can't get it all together. (I'm sure my golf teacher gets aggravated at me.)

This weekend was my first lesson in hitting from the sand. I made two really good bunker shots that made me proud. I try to find something positive about my game in every round. Not that I think I'm Paula Creamer yet, but I hope to be close one day.

One of the wonderful things about golf is that I have lots of room to improve and I plan to do just that. Another wonderful thing about golf is there are so many beautiful places to play.

Hot Springs Village reminded me of Bella Vista. Both beautiful places to live and to play golf. I wish it was time to retire....
