The holidays are over once again and everyone can get back to normal life without lights, decorated trees, wrapping paper, and bows. Life can slow back down to a normal pace and we can all relax and say, "Ahhhhhh."

I like New Year's Day because it's almost a stopping point, or should I say a starting point. However, I will say that this year will be an experiment for me. This is the first year that I can remember NOT eating black eyed peas and cabbage on New Year's Day. I could blame it on my mother because she wasn't here to cook, like she does every New Year's Day, but I won't put that weight on her if my luck and my money are bad this year. I could blame it on my boss because I had to work New Year's Day, but I probably wouldn't have cooked it anyway because no one in my family would have eaten it but me. So, we will see how my luck holds up this year without them.

They were having lots of fun, weren't they!? Well, we had fun having them up here.
I didn't eat peas and cabbage either...but it has been a long time since I have. I sure do like them tho. I was tempted to try my hand at your Mom's fried cabbage...So YUM!!
