I started this quilt for Diane in November of last year. She had saved some of her baby clothes that she wore as a baby and I stole them from her to make her a lap quilt out of them. And then in December of last year, I started piecing them together. Then finally I got it completed in time for Christmas this year. It took longer than I anticipated, but I get sluggish on my project work in the summer time for some reason......(golf.)
I am very pleased at how it turned out and I know that Diane loves it and will treasure it forever. It has even made a trip already to Missouri to her Mom's. All those little tiny pieces of baby clothes.
Although I didn't mean for it to be a Christmas present this year, I did get it done just in time and gave it to Diane for Christmas.
MeMe and Papa came to our house on Christmas Eve bearing gifts. I was so glad to see them, as always, and the girls were too.
We actually got a little snow on Christmas Eve night. It was just a fine dusting at our house and didn't last long, but I love to watch snow fall. And so I did.
Then I got the girls all tucked in so Santa would come. I really don't know which one was more excited.
I do know that Sophie was glad it started snowing so that Santa could bring his sleigh. If it isn't snowing, she says he brings his truck. I don't think it matters to any child how Santa gets to their house, as long as he gets there.
I just don't know why they have to get up so early Christmas morning!!
I truly love Christmastime. For all that it is and all that it means. But also for Christmas lights blinking on scattered houses here and there, and for stockings hanging from the fireplace mantel. I love the excitement and surprise on the kids face when they open their gifts. I love having a family to share it all with.

Oh how I love and cherish my quilt! My mom looked at it over and over...for ever!!!!! She remembered every piece and where the outfit came from! Thank you so very much for doing that for me!!!

Larry got me lots of golf stuff. A new golf bag, some new gloves, a shirt and visor, and a heater for my cart. I am ready ready ready!!
I really felt a little spoiled this year though.
It's okay to be spoiled though.
The quilt you made was beautiful and such a precious gift.
The girls look so happy as they anticipate Christmas. I know you all were happy to see your mom.
