Last week was Sadie's first pep rally and first ballgame.  She was so nervous.  I could see it all over her face when I got to the gym.  She invited me to the pep rally, but it was a good thing she did.  I was going anyway.

It was really nostalgic for me.  It seems like only a few days ago I was in that gym as a student.  But in reality it was 20 years ago.

It looked the same.  Smelled the same.  Felt the same as it did 20 years ago.

The band playing and the echo it made in the gym.  The students all separated by class.  The football players sitting there all tough.  The pretty cheerleaders.  The teachers and coaches lined up along the wall.  Orange and Black everywhere!!  Scrapper Spirit shining just as bright as when I was there.  It took all I had not to stand up and yell, especially during the spirit stick contest!

Sadie looked like a natural!!  I was a super proud Scrapper Mom!!

She was still a little nervous about the game, but not as nervous as she was with the pep rally.  She said the kids are tougher critics than the parents, so she wasn't at all worried about the stands being completely full at the first home game of the season.....until she got there.

Even then, you couldn't tell it.  I think she did a great job.  She cheered her little heart out.

Of course, I took more pictures than I watched the game.  I was trying to do both, but between watching the game, Sadie cheering, and Sophie and Molly.....that's a lot for this girl to juggle.  Molly did pretty good.  She made it until just before half time, then Larry took her home.  She was wanting to watch Einstein's, so you know she was worn out if she was ready to go to bed.!   Sophie and I enjoyed the second half a little better because it was just the two of us eating nachos and watching the game.

This was the first of a lot of things for Sadie.  But I want her to know that she better enjoy every single minute of this.  I know that she is a lot like me, and being like me, I can tell her that she will miss these people that she sees every day.  They will be in her heart forever!!
