Sophie and Molly were able to attend the Princess Party at the church on Saturday. Sadie was suppose to participate as a hostess and help all the little princesses, but our girls and boys basketball teams both progressed in the Regionals and Sadie had to cheer on Saturday. I was so glad that both teams did so well, but was a little bummed that Sadie couldn't go to the party too. It was an awesome event.
Here are all the little princesses!! I don't know why my two little princesses posed on completely opposite sides of the stage. They were not placed there. They did this on their own.
I was afraid that the princess party would be a little to juvenile and a little too princess-y for Sophie. She loves pretty foo-foo dresses, put she is not that foo-foo in general. In fact, she wasn't jumping up and down to go. But I'm so glad she went because she had a really good time.
Molly on the other hand, is completely foo-foo and all things princess. The Princess Party was all she talked about all week and all she has talked about since!! She was in princess heaven!
We were in groups of ten or so and led around by a big princess to different stations. Molly was shy at first, but it didn't take her long to adjust and fit right in. Olivia and Julia were in our group, so Sophie had a big time with them because Sophie and Olivia have been friends since they were born. Molly ran into Ava, her friend from Sunday School. She wasn't in our group, but we they stopped and visited while we waited on our pony ride.
They had miniature pony rides and even a horse and buggy ride. It was a little chilly outside, but these princesses didn't care. Only the Mommas were standing around shivering. Sadie and Molly both rode the pony and both rode the buggy as well. I took tons of pictures, but Sophie kinda looked too big for the pony. She needed a full grown horse. I opted to leave that one out.!
They had photo opts with the real princesses. They all looked ab-so-lute-ly beautiful!! There was story book time where they were read a couple of stories about princesses. There was a craft time where they made their own princess hats, (Molly didn't care much about the hat because she was NOT taking her crown off.) They had game time where they pinned the lips on the frog, blew bubbles, and used sidewalk chalk while waiting on the pony ride. There was nail painting and face painting. There was even a princess bounce house.
There wasn't much down time either. Everything was very well planned and organized. They kept these girls busy and entertained with fun stuff continuously the whole time.
We probably spent the most time at the nail and face painting station. We didn't even make it to the snack station, which had princess cupcakes and a chocolate fountain with marshmallows and strawberries. These princesses were too busy to eat!
So after I pried Molly away from the princess party, we went to McDonalds to eat with Olivia and Julia and Mrs. Beverly. After happy meals and ice cream in all of our princess attire, I was a worn out Momma!!
Sophie was invited to go home with Olivia and Julia where they continued to play in their make believe land.
They made their little campsite and had snacks outside on the lawn, still in their princess attire. Beverly sent me these pictures and it made my heart smile.
This little princess and I went straight home where she took a nap........in her princess dress!
