It is unbelievable that the senior stuff has already started to happen.  This week was cheer tryouts and this will be Sadie's last cheer tryouts.  She has made no indication that she wants to tryout in college, of course nothing surprises me anymore with her, especially if she waits until the last minute to decide to try out.  I would not be surprised.  But as of now, there has been no mention of it.

But thankfully she got through the two weeks and made it and the stress and worry over that is behind her.  This was the least stressful year, but still stressful - even for mommas.

There were 17 girls that tried out.  Sadie drew number 17.  She hated being last.  There were two girls that didn't make it, which always breaks my heart.  But they have years left so I hope they keep trying.

Here is my little Senior Cheerleader!

I forgot to take my camera, so all of these pictures were taken with my phone.  I took several and made a little collage.

12 o'clock -- Sadie and Mrs. Renfrow;  2 o'clock -- Sadie cheer pose;
4 o'clock -- senior girls; 6 o'clock -- the sad senior girls' mommas;
8 o'clock -- Brittney and Sadie's remake of last year's pose; 10 o'clock -- Sadie and Kaden.
Middle -- Sadie and her biggest fan

And let me tell you that the stress and practice and tryouts include everyone in the house!!  Every night we have to have tryout practice and everyone gets a turn.  (Some people get several turns.)  These little girls practice as much as the big one does.  It is quite entertaining and that is part of the reason my room is in the mess that it's in.

My heart is broken for Kaden.  She is in Sadie's class and was a cheerleader also.  Sadie and Kaden have had a love/hate relationship throughout school.  Not that Sadie's doesn't love Kaden, because she does, but Kaden has always been a very prim and proper and a prissy girl and Sadie had a hard time relating to that.  Kaden always dresses up.  Kaden is all about make-up and bedazzles and matching handbags and Sadie is not.

As the squad was getting ready for cheer competition, Kaden started having pain in her hip area.  At first it would come and go and then it started getting more regular.  She made it through cheer competition and into basketball season.  I noticed that sometimes Kaden would cheer and sometimes she would sit out.  After many doctor appointments and tests, Kaden was diagnosed with cancer and they found a fist size tumor in her hip.  This is a rare childhood cancer.  It is treatable and she is ready to fight the fight.

She is a bubbly bright funny girl.  She is very positive and her attitude about this cancer is more than I could imagine having.  She started chemo the week of cheer tryouts.  Kaden couldn't try out for cheer for her senior year.  The treatments are scheduled to last for 22 weeks, so she will miss half of her senior year at school with her friends.  She will spend more time at the hospital than she will with her friends.  She will miss so much this last year of school and my heart hurts for her.  Many many prayers for Kaden.
