This and That

So besides all the exciting stuff that is going on with the mini-trips and such, we are really really excited about summer!  We have been outside as much as possible! So much that I have poison ivy from my feet to my nose.  Literally!!

Molly is excited about Sophie going with her to Ms. Verna's every morning now that school is out.  Sophie is helping Verna teach the lessons during the day.  She has been working for weeks planning for lessons, story time, movies, and recess activities.  She even made her some lesson plans and a lunch menu.  Verna said she could throw the lunch menu away because she wasn't going to promise that they would follow that.

I just hope Molly cooperates better than she does at home when they play teacher.  There's usually a fight or at least screaming before it's over with.  There's some struggle there when Sophie tries to set some rules.  Molly doesn't like it.  Lord help the Kindergarten teacher she gets!

These girls are just like Sadie and Sophie were at this age.  Molly absolutely loves Sophie.  She adores her.  But she can get so mad at her.  Molly gets on Sophie's nerves and Sophie tends to aggravate Molly because it's fun to do when she's bored.  But there is nothing that Sophie wouldn't do for Molly when she is not aggravating her.    I love that!

Larry has been on a gun kick lately.  Trading guns, selling guns, buying guns.  I don't know what he's doing.  I can't even hardly keep up with it.  But in the process, he bought the little girls a 22 rifle, a 410 shotgun, and kid size bow.  We have been doing some target practicing.

Molly wants to shoot.  She shoots first because she is the boss.  (She thinks.)  She does take turns and she wears out pretty quick.  Sophie loves to shoot.  She loves to shoot anything.  She will shoot until you run out of bullets to give her.  I think it is good to teach kids how to handle a gun and gun safety.  Her daddy would be so proud of her.

This group of kids are getting ready to go on a mission trip next month.  This time in is in the United States.  Ohio.  Sadie's heart is still in Guatemala, but I know she will have fun on this trip too.

Sophie has been doing so good in school.  She rocked 4th grade!!  At her awards ceremony she had a bad headache to the point where it made her sick.  But she was so proud of her All A's certificate and medal.  I am so proud of her.  She has worked hard all year and is really paying attention to her grades now.  It means a lot to her.

Larry bought the girls a slip-n-slide.  Our water bill just went up.

It took Molly a little while to figure out how to slide, but she's got it down pat now.  Sophie has been at VBS all week this week in the evening.  She hasn't got to use it good yet.  Molly will be a pro when Sophie can show her how it's done.

Molly still loves her daddy.  If you ask her she will say that I am number one.  She even tells him that.  Usually when we go out to eat Sophie and Molly argue over who is going to sit by me.  Sophie wasn't with us this night and Molly didn't have anyone to argue with, so she chose to sit by Dad.
