In honor of Sophie's birthday, we planned a little float trip on the Caddo River. Sophie is going to be gone to church camp on her actual birthday, so we are celebrating all weekend long.

This was Molly's first float trip. We weren't sure how she would do (hence the floaties) but as soon as she was floating in the water she was good with it and it didn't take long for those floaties to come off.

I absolutely love these little family outings. I wish we could do something every weekend. I know we are making memories and I feel like we are running out of time with us "all being together."  I know that sounds bad, but when Sadie leaves for college everything will change. Regardless of how bad I try, it will be different.

Not that we won't still make memories and it won't be great too. It will just be different.

And I guess many realizations have slapped me in the face lately because this little girl is not a baby anymore. She is not a toddler anymore. She isn't a little snotty nose kid anymore. She is going to be 10 YEARS OLD in a few days. Man how I wish she was still little!!

We had a fun day. I don't know which I like better - the tubes or the canoes. I think both have their own advantages.

I think Molly had more fun getting in and out of the tube than she did anything. But she did want to "borrow" this man's canoe that was on the bank. I think she wanted to try it out.

I think Sophie liked the tube better than the canoe because she isn't a fan of paddling.

I think Dad didn't have a preference because he flipped his tube as many times as he flipped the canoe when we went last time. Which always cracks us up!!

I think Sadie liked the tube better because she was trying to "get her tan on."

We had so much fun that when we caught the bus to shuttle back we decided to float it again.

We got done just in time because as soon as we got back to the vehicle the bottom fell out. I don't know where that came from because there wasn't a chance in the forecast.

We got in some dry clothes and went to Little Italy for supper.

Nobody loves their supper as much as Molly did!! She was starving!!

Fun times and memories made!! More birthday fun for Sophie tomorrow.
