Saturday morning we woke up and got ready to see our way around Cozumel. Before we left, I looked at the weather there was a great chance of rain on Saturday so I didn't book an excursion. We decided that if we woke up and it was raining, we would stay on the ship. If we woke up and it was pretty, we would venture out and find a beach to go to.
It was really pretty when we got up, so off we went.
We were so excited and didn't even know where we were going. That usually makes me a little nervous, but I felt comfortable because I had been there before and used the taxis there.
So we found the taxi place and asked about local beaches. This little man told us about his deal he had going at this private beach for a small fee, he would take us to a beach area that had a swimming area, a restaurant, bathrooms, showers, snorkeling, cabanas, jet skis, and the such. This included the taxi fair and the taxi driver would stay there and bring you back whenever you were with him. It was way way way cheaper than any of the excursions so I was in. Larry was a little skeptical, but I talked him into it. The girls didn't care, they were just ready to go somewhere.
We had to wait a few more minutes for the taxi service to get lined out.
Larry was on the look out. I think he was still a little skittish.
Our taxi driver's name was Alfredo. He was so nice!! It was about a 15 minute taxi ride to this beach area. Alfredo was telling us about the area, all about Cozumel, and himself. I really really liked Alfredo.
When we arrived at the beach, we were very very pleased.
There was a small little swimming area and beautiful blue waters.
The water was cool and the sun was hot. It was a perfect day for a beach day.
Larry and the girls jumped in the water immediately.
Molly was a little apprehensive. She didn't want there to be waves.
I hung out with Molly at the edge of the water for a little bit to let her get used to it.
Larry tried to entice her in.
Sophie tried to entice her in.
But she wasn't sure yet.
Larry finally got her to sit with him at the edge of the water.
Then she got a little braver.
And then a little more.
I loved this little place. It was beautiful.
Just like a little paradise resort, but there was no resort.
I found us a little cabana to sit and relax.
I really could have stayed in that one spot for days!
Molly overcame her fear of the ocean and waves. She and Sophie just loved it.
We saw another cruise ship going by and I tried to capture the picture of Sophie holding it in her hand.
Epic fail.
I'm pretty sure Molly didn't have a clue what we were doing but she was trying to move her hands up and down where I was telling Sophie.
Sadie thought she could do a better job. We almost nailed this one except I didn't tell her to move her fingers closer together.
This was really the perfect place and was worth way more than the money we spent.
We watched the little girls play. They even found other kids to play with, so we just relaxed in our chairs and watched them.
We ordered an appetizer and some drinks. The grilled shrimp was pretty good and they had fried avocado which was surprisingly pretty good too.
Wonderful day at the beach!!
