The evenings were fun too.  The girls stayed at Grandma Geri's house.  She doted on them, showed them off, fed them well, took them swimming, and gave them whatever they wanted.

Larry and I stayed at Rancho de los Caballeros, a dude ranch resort, compliments of Larry's mom.  It was super nice.

I had never been on a dude ranch and this exceeded my expectations, just like everything else on this trip. When we were shown to our room, I noticed a wonderful smell and a huge orange tree right in front.  It was the most refreshing pleasant smell I have ever smelled.

This big cactus was right in front of our room too.  I'm pretty sure if it fell it would demolish our room.

Larry asked one of the workers if the oranges were good to eat.  He said no they were too bitter.  I wish I had one in my yard so I could just smell it everyday.

The main house was beautiful!

It was a large property with lots of rooms.  Lots of activities.  Lots of beauty.

There was horseback riding, tennis, a golf course, hayrides, campfire gatherings, a pool, games, a spa, and I'm sure lots more that I didn't even know about.

We were only there during the evenings and didn't have time to participate in any of the events, but it would be nice to go back sometime and do some of those things, or all of those things.

The stay included three meals a day.

We ate breakfast there every morning.  It was a delicious buffet.

We had dinner there one evening and it was fancy smancy.

It almost made me feel guilty that we didn't have the girls with us until Sadie sent me this picture of their breakfast one morning.
What a pancake!
